“Never underestimate the power of a girl gang.” Ain’t that the truth! Every new year I go over my goals. Never fails at the top of my list for photography is “SHOOT MORE FOR YOU”. Sounds easy right, but at the same time I have to shoot for others. Let’s be honest, because it is what pays the bills and a little something called time. Of course, I love to shoot for others. Don’t get me wrong there. I get so much joy capturing moments for others on some of their best days. However, it is so easy for my “SHOOT MORE FOR YOU” goal to get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. So here I am at the beginning of 2018 (ok ok a month and some change in) with my first “SHOOT MORE FOR YOU” project.
When you think of Valentine’s Day of course you think of couples in love. I wanted to do a little something different. For myself, some of my favorite memories of Valentine’s Day are when my friends and I would what’s it called “treat yo’ self”. For us that meant sugar cookies and pedicures. In 2010, Parks and Recreation, coined the term Galentine’s Day. I don’t about you, but this was a game changer for me. A day where we could treat ourselves and hangout with friends with no pressure and expectations.
What’s the perfect Galentine’s Day date? Well, it’s the all-round perfect day for just about any gal. Start at Target and end drunk in the tub with your friends. Right? Throw some pizza, wine, La Croix and some chocolate in the mix there ya have it the perfect Galentine’s Day ever.
High: It’s still getting married. If you have been following along I think it’s been my high for awhile. It’s a pretty big damn deal.
Low: Christian has to work tonight instead of Saturday night. I picked up a shift thinking it was the perfect idea for us both to be working at the same time. Then turns out he works Friday instead of Saturday. OH well…
Funny: “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Stop what you’re doing and watch this show now. It’s so good and funny! It’s on Amazon Prime.
Current Obsession: The wedding invitations. We just got them finalized and about to print. I am soo in love with them.
Current Song: This cover by Willa Amai Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
