This is 32, or am I 33 part 2

I loved the title to my first blog so much I just stuck with it, since in some of these moments I am 32 and some 33.  It only made sense to make it a part two.  Felt like it was time for an update on where I am in this thing called life.  I’ll start where I left off from my first blog This is 32, or am I 33.

Last update I went with the method of telling a low, high and a funny moment.  Felt like that was good, so we will continue with that.  I’ll start with the low, so we can end on a good note.  Plus, I will just add a bunch of photos, because let’s be real that ‘s how I really do my talking.

The low moment was losing my puppy dog , Ginger.  If you read my last blog we lost Christian’s dog, Tank.  What a year.  Losing not only one dog, but two.  We were traveling to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving.  I know some will want to know what happened and some people don’t like reading about blood, so if you happen to be that person just skip this part.

The day before Thanksgiving we packed up and loaded the car.  Ginger was acting normal, went to the bathroom before we left and proceeded to perch on pillows like a princess for the journey.  You know the usual stuff.   We stopped a few more times along the way.  We all got out and used the bathroom.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  Considering Thanksgiving travel this drive was taking us longer than normal.  Ginger probably had made that trip 20 times of more at this point.  Over 8 hours in the car we smell something.  Ginger pooped.  We pulled over laughed about it, because as many times as Ginger and I had made that trip I figured it was only a matter of time before something like that was to happen.  At this point, I was driving so we pull over.  Christian gets her out cleans up the mess, and mentions she is acting funny.  I said well she just pooped in the car for the first time.  She must be embarrassed or ashamed.  I mean if I pooped in the car that’s how I would be feeling.  We kept driving.

Maybe a hour later we finally arrive.  Let her out and she really was acting funny.  She was walking like she was drunk.  Being a dachshund, she can easily hurt her back.  We have been down that road before.  So in my head I am thinking ok she must of just hurt her back from jumping from the car from the traveling.  Even though I always tried to help her instead of letting her jump, but she don’t listen.  A free spirit if you will.  At this point it’s late and the day before Thanksgiving, so I am thinking no big deal we have been here before.  She just needs to take it easy.  Boy, was I wrong.

We wake up and she had passed blood.  Lots of it.  We call around and the closest vet is a hour way, so we head that way.  Meanwhile, losing more blood.  It was horrible.  We had to make the hardest decision ever that Thanksgiving.  I don’t wish it on anyone.  With the vet’s recommendation and how much blood she had lost in such a short time we told her good-bye.  We wiped the boogers from her eyes one last time, because we are gross and that was our thing.

My sweet sweet baby dog, Ginger aka Ging aka Gingee.

Wooo shake it off, because we made it to the high.  Geez that low though.

My biggest high was getting married.  It was so good.  I could gush and talk about it all day.  Our wedding was everything we dreamed up.  Christian and I were very fortunate to have so much love poured into our day.  People came out of the woodwork to help or show us support.  It really showed me a lot about people.  What I learned is people love LOVE, and I love that.  Here’s a link to check out some of the photos that our phenomenal photographer, From the Daisies.

Of course the day couldn’t go by without me setting up my tripod and getting a few myself.  Our photographer had already gone by this point, and I was determined to get the infamous sparkler exit shot.

The wedding was great and all, but you know what was even better… I mean besides spending the rest of my life with my love.  It was the honeymoon!  Do whatever it takes to go on one of these.  It seriously is exactly what we never even knew we needed.  Not that I needed a reminder of why I picked to spend the rest of my life with this guy, but it was that for me.  I really really dig him.  We had the best time calling each other husband and wife all while staring at our rings, because that’s what you do afterwards.  Still not sure if I’ll ever get over calling him my husband.

Ya know life is funny.  It’s New Year’s Eve, and you think you want to paint the town red when in fact you quickly learn that painting just ain’t your thing anymore.  The fear of FOMO was definitely the culprit here.  FOMO no mo, because we decided to live on the edge and go out. We dressed up and paid a ridiculous amount for tickets. Got there was there for maybe 15 minutes decided it was too cold, and we aren’t putting up with shit like that for the new year. So we left. Here’s to not being cold, putting up with shit ya don’t need to and realizing that you’re totally fine with being an old married couple that rings in the new year on the couch.

Dare I say that 33 is my best year, yet.  I have four more months for this thing to fall apart, but I am pretty positive person, so I think I can coast to the finish line here.  I always think that every year is the best, so that only means things just get better and better.  Or maybe it’s that I am finally settled into who I am, which feels really nice.

P.S.  We really don’t smoke or drink coke.  It just makes for cooler pics.  But we do dance…

“This shit got me in my feelings
Gotta be real with it, yup
Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?
Say you’ll never ever leave from beside me
‘Cause I want ya, and I need ya
And I’m down for you always
KB, do you love me? Are you riding?
Say you’ll never ever leave from beside me
‘Cause I want ya, and I need ya
And I’m down for you always”
